Ceramic Road along the Red River: The convergence of the heart

This is one gift to Thang Long - Hanoi thousand years old.
The Ceramic Road project comes from the idea of the journalists - painter Nguyen Thu Thuy. With the goal of beautifying a public space with traditional ceramic materials through expressive styles of contemporary artists. The project began to be implemented from 2007, with a total length of 4 km, an area of 7.000m2. Each square meter of the painting used about 1,000 pieces of pottery with the area of 3x3cm . The road runs along the An Duong gate on Yen Phu street, along Tran Nhat Duat Street and Tran Quang Khai, Tran Khanh Du, to the Van Kiep gate. According to the journalist - painter Nguyen Thu Thuy,most of the capital are from public, social investment and her family's capital. Both her and her husband have spent a lot of saved money to run the project in the first stage. Even, her husband had to sell his old cars, his passion to invest the Ceramic Road project. They did not do te project because of any particular purpose than Hanoi love and a desire to improve the living environment, promote traditional pottery from Vietnam to the world, and the contributions of society has inspired for project success. She said, in the 4-year project, "Ceramic Road" has attracted the participation of 20 artists in 15 countries and foreign artists such as Denmark, France, Netherlands, Spain, Italy, UK, USA, Argentina ... Moreover, there were more than 100 artisans, craftsmen from the pottery villages in the country, more than 500 people, students, children ... participated in the project. With 21 subjects such as: A1 - Honor the legacy of art with the flow of history from the Dong Son period over period of Ly, Tran, Le, Nguyen and a big picture of the Ly dragons with row word "Thang Long - Hanoi 1000 years" at Chuong Duong Bridge intersections ;A2 - Represent the characteristic and typical pattern on brocade and architectural decoration of Vietnam's 54 ethnic groups. A3 - Pottery Painting of the Vietnamese and foreign children with theme "Hanoi - City of Peace"; From A4 to A9 is contemporary paintings of Vietnamese and international artists.
After 4 years we had a colorful ceramic road, replace the old color of the concrete embankment road.
